Soils and Crops Alumni Golf Outing – Friday September 11, 2026

Greetings UWP Soils and Crops Alumni and friends!

You are cordially invited to the annual Soils and Crops alumni golf outing, meal, and auction on Friday September 11th at Apple Canyon Lake in northwest Illinois.

Golf (“best ball”) starts at 2:30 pm with the meal at 5:00 pm. Golf is $16 and food is $9 per person.

Participants are encouraged to bring items for an auction. Auction proceeds go to the teams and Soils & Crop Sciences scholarships.

Let Dr. Higgs know if you plan to golf and/or attend the meal. Dr. Higgs can be reached directly at higgsrf@outlook.com.

This is a fun event, so you do not need to be a pro-golfer. You are encouraged to put together a foursome or group to golf (you need not golf, either).

Making Better Men Scholarship – June 27, 2026

On June 27, 2026, the brothers hosted the second annual Making Better Men Scholarship event!

Potential new members had the opportunity to tour the AGR house, meet our members, learn more about our chapter, and take part in conversations about leadership, agriculture, brotherhood, and what it means to be a better man.

This event continues to be an important part of our year-round recruitment efforts and allows us to connect with incoming students who are interested in getting involved at UW-Platteville. Thank you to everyone who attended, helped plan, gave tours, and represented Beta Gamma throughout the day.

If you are interested in learning more about what AGR has to offer, please reach out to Kurt Zimmerman at (217)-649-2184 or zimmermanku@uwplatt.edu .

Ag-Fest – September 12th, 2025

Our 2025 Ag-Fest event included a guest speaker, live band, mechanical bull, on-campus organizations, and industry representatives. It was a great opportunity for attendees to build relationships and connections within the Ag-industry and support the school of agriculture. All of the donations from our sponsors will be donated back to the school of agriculture at UW-Platteville.
